Open Tale©
the app that makes cultural heritage accessible to everyone
© 2026 Frame Multimedia Solutions Srls — All rights reserved
A digital system for telling the story of cities, museums, parks and cultural routes through audio guides, audio descriptions, sign language, subtitles, Easy to Read and AAC. Every user chooses how they experience it.
NOT JUST AN AUDIO GUIDE
A different experience for every need
Open Tale lets users choose their preferred mode of access from the very start. The same place can be told through different languages, making it more accessible, more understandable and better suited to diverse audiences.
-
Audio guides
For all visitors
For residents, tourists and visitors who want to discover a place through a simple, engaging audio narrative.
-
Audio descriptions
Blind or visually impaired users
Content designed to describe what cannot be seen, with an interface optimised for TalkBack and VoiceOver.
-
Sign language and subtitles
Deaf or hard-of-hearing users
Videos in Italian Sign Language (ISL) and accessible text content for every point of interest along the route.
-
Easy to Read and AAC
People with cognitive or communicative needs
Simplified texts and visual supports with AAC pictograms for a more independent and understandable experience.
HOW IT WORKS
A journey that adapts to you
-
BEFORE YOU START
Choose your mode
When the app opens, the user selects how they want to access the content: audio guide, audio description, sign language, subtitles, Easy to Read or AAC.
-
ON THE MOVE
Enable GPS and explore the route
Open Tale accompanies the visit through a city, museum, park, village or cultural itinerary. Enable GPS and enjoy the route: the app does the rest.
-
AT THE CHECKPOINT
Find checkpoints and enjoy the stories
When the user approaches a checkpoint, the app sends a notification and offers to activate the content linked to that point of interest. The user confirms and the story begins.
-
ACCESSIBLE CONTENT
Discover the place accessibly
Each point of interest is presented in the chosen mode — audio guide, audio description, sign language or AAC — making the experience independent, inclusive and understandable.
Content can also be accessed remotely, without travelling to the site: ideal for preparing for a visit or exploring cultural heritage from home.

FOR ORGANISATIONS
Why activate Open Tale©
Open Tale helps organisations transform their heritage into a more accessible, modern and participatory experience.
Enhances places
Every point of interest becomes part of a digital narrative, clear and accessible to all visitors.
Improves the welcome
Diverse visitors can access content in the way that best suits their sensory, cognitive or linguistic needs.
Makes accessibility real
Audio descriptions, sign language, subtitles, Easy to Read and AAC become a structural part of the visit experience, not an optional add-on.
Grows over time
The system can be expanded with new routes, languages, content and technologies. Staff have a control panel to make updates independently.
TECHNOLOGY
Simple technology,
accessible experience
For outdoor routes and points of interest distributed across a territory.
For activating content in a simple and immediate way, without needing GPS.
For accessing content without downloading the app, directly from a browser.
As an alternative to GPS for museums and indoor spaces.
Application optimised for screen reader access on Android and iOS.
For updating routes, content and modes over time, independently.
Manifesto on cultural accessibility
A place is truly "public" when it can be understood and experienced by everyone.
Cultural accessibility is not just about removing a physical barrier. It is about the way a territory chooses to tell its story, to welcome and to include diverse audiences.
